For my cultural event I attended the Delta probate. I thought that this was a great event that included so much history. While there, it made me think of the talented ten, which we discussed in class. Without the concept of the talented ten, black fraternities and sorties would not exist.The history of the sisterhood is amazing and I think a very powerful bond important in the African American community.
I attended the Delta probate. I had never been to anything like that before. I was in awe of the whole event. The amount of culture that was presented at the probate was unreal. I believe that bond that the African American community has is something that the rest of the world could learn something from. The amount of support that they give to the people who are intimating is unbelievable.
I attended the Mr. Ms. black UK pageant. This is a cultural event because it is meant to showcase some of the brightest and most talented students that black UK has to offer. It is put on by the Black Student Union and the Deltas.
I went to Roxane Gaye. I loved her poems and feminist activism she inspired me with her bravery, humor and truth. I did not know much about her until this class and getting to meet her and hear her read live from her book was a memory I will already remember.
For my cultural event, I attended the Hispanic Heritage festival earlier in the year. The event was so refreshing. It had so many event and information that taught me so much about hispanic culture. The food was awesome as well and they were really pleasant and inviting to other ethnicities that went as well.
For me, it's the best thing to put in their final exam topic is all about academics that involves individual concepts of learning. This will surely help a lot of students to be encourage in their exam.
